Thanks for visiting DeborahSharp.com.
A former USA Today reporter, I ditched the news biz to write funny fiction. My latest is MAMA SEES STARS (Sept. 2011), the fourth Mace Bauer Mystery. When a Hollywood film crew comes a'calling, Mama gets her close-up . . . with murder! Things are just as dicey in MAMA GETS HITCHED (July 2010), when Mama takes her fifth try at marital bliss. What's a Bridezilla to do when the caterer winds up dead in the kitchen at the VFW, even before the first pig-in-a-blanket is passed?
Research for the most recent books was a lot easier on my hindquarters than saddling up for 2009'S MAMA RIDES SHOTGUN. I did a six-day, cross-Florida, camping and horseback trek to study up on the setting for that one. At my age? What was I thinking??
I hope you'll have a chance to read my books, including the debut, MAMA DOES TIME(2008). They're traditional, with a Southern-fried edge: Think Agatha Christie, if she had a couple of cousins named Bubba.
I'm a Florida native, just like my main character, Mace. And, my mama, like hers, can be a handful. But so far, I've never had to haul my mama's butt out of jail or rescue her from a gator. She's only 96, so maybe there's still time . . . |

Don't miss the latest funny, Southern-fried mystery in this popular series from author Deborah Sharp. When a Hollywood movie crew comes to call, will Mama's closeup end in murder?
