Thanks for visiting DeborahSharp.com.
A former USA Today reporter, I ditched the news biz to write
funny fiction. MAMA GETS TRASHED, the fifth book in my Mace
Bauer Mystery series, will be out in September 2013, but you
can pre-order (click below). The most recent book available
is No. 4, MAMA SEES STARS (Midnight Ink, 2011). When a
Hollywood film crew comes a'calling, Mama gets her close-up
. . . with murder! Things are just as dicey in No. 3, MAMA
GETS HITCHED (July 2010), when Mama ties the sacred knot of
matrimony -- for the fifth time. What's a Bridezilla to do
when the caterer winds up dead at the VFW, even before the
first pig-in-a-blanket is passed?
Doing research for the last couple of books was easier on my
hindquarters than saddling up for 2009'S MAMA RIDES SHOTGUN.
I did a six-day, cross-Florida, camping and horseback trek
to study up on the setting for that one, Book No. 2. At my
age? What was I thinking??
I hope you'll have a chance to read my books, including the
debut, Book No. 1, MAMA DOES TIME (2008). They're
traditional, with a Southern-fried edge: Think Agatha
Christie, if she had a couple of cousins named Bubba.
I'm a Florida native, just like my main character, Mace.
And, my mama, like hers, can be a handful. But so far, I've
never had to haul her butt out of jail or rescue her from a
gator. She's only 98, so maybe there's still time . . . |

The Critics Rave:
In a STARRED review, Library Journal says:
''This zany fourth entry in Sharp's series is a feature
worthy of the big screen . . . The mystery aisles can always
use more humor, and Sharp delivers.''
A thumbs-up from Kirkus: ''Sparks fly when Hollywood comes
to Himmarshee . . . An amusing tale of life and love in the
kind of Florida town tourists rarely see.''
''Energetic plots and laugh-out loud humor are staples of
Sharp's series, and the author's skills are at their
finest,'' says noted reviewer Oline Cogdill.
''Mama Sees Stars is 'The Golden Girls' meet 'Entourage,'''
according to the Florida Book Review.
Don't miss the latest funny, Southern-fried mystery in this
popular series from author Deborah Sharp. When a Hollywood
movie crew comes to call, will Mama's closeup end in murder?
